I grew up in a musical family with both parents playing the piano and performing on stage. My mother’s uncle, Percy, was Charlie Chaplin’s euphonium player before Chaplin moved to USA and my uncle turned down the chance to front The Moody Blues in the ‘60’s.

I have been playing the guitar for some forty five plus years and have learnt to play 6 and 12 string guitars, electric guitars and the bass too. To date, I own over 17 guitars in total and many different types of amplifiers!

My collection includes: Gibson Les Paul gold top, Midtown and SG, Fender Stratocaster, Telecaster and Jazzmaster, Gretsch, Ibanez AR420, JJ HB Retro(with Roland guitar synth), Hofner violin bass(Beatles style), Patrick Eggle Tony Iommi Artist(signed by him) and 6 and 12 string electro acoustics.

My primary interest is Rock music with influences from The Beatles, ACDC, Dire Straits, The Killers, Joe Bonamassa and the Foo Fighters to name but a few. Over the years I have played at the NEC, Twickenham Rugby Club, Institute of Directors in London, Coombe Abbey Coventry in front of the Countess of Wessex (Prince Edward’s wife), the old Coventry City football ground at Highfield Road and recently headlined Glastonbudget on the main stage.

I have performed in a variety of countries such as France, Italy, Mauritius and Australia. I am currently involved with two professional rock covers bands playing in Warwickshire, Worcestershire, and West Midlands.

I chose to become a guitar tutor because I have a genuine love and passion for the instrument and want to share my experience and expertise to help and develop the young and old to become more proficient players.

My aim is for you to experience the joy that I felt when I picked up my first guitar and still feel now. For an informal chat or just a bit more information please get in touch using the form below.
